This year’s 8 Agile eye-openers

This is about perspectives. About a safe culture. About getting the space to accelerate. But also about taking time to celebrate successes together. Our trainers Steije, Geeske, Tim and Rose-Anne shared dozens of insights, tips, canvases and anecdotes with you. Everything to inspire your team to work even more agile and happy. In this article I share with you a handy overview of the most important eye-openers. Oh yes, at the bottom of this article I also share with you 4 canvases and 4 team tools (tip: they are really worth it).

Nice to start working Agile together. You finally want to really get going with your Scrum team.‘Then it’s time for an Agile Transformation!’ Sounds like a lot of fun, of course (and to our trainers and coaches like a piece of cake), but how do you get such a change done? And what does it actually mean for your organization? Perhaps more importantly, why would you want to work Agile in the first place? Those questions are answered by my four experienced colleagues.

Rose-Anne on perspectives and unwillingness

If you want to improve, you have to look at things differently. You could call it Rose-Anne’s motto. In her first blog, Rose-Anne tells how that one phrase helps her in dealing with “difficult clients. If these are not unfamiliar to you either, Rose-Anne has a very concrete tip for you. But this is also an important eye-opener: you can keep looking at something from all sides, but sometimes it just doesn’t work. Then you can stand on your head to get everyone in the team or organization on board, but it is pulling on a ‘dead horse’. Read all about it in this instructive anecdote.

Steije on risk-taking and safety

Daring to take risks. That is essential if you want to (continue to) grow. Trainer and coach Steije is convinced of that. Not surprisingly, in his first article he talks about how he himself, by taking risks, has grown. So it’s super interesting to read what he gets out of contradicting his own client. On the other hand, Steije says: you want to dare to take risks, but work in a psychologically safe environment. You want to be able to flourish. Especially in your (new) work environment. A place where you feel safe, valued and completely in place. This article gives you 3 tips on what to do if your work environment doesn’t feel safe.

Geeske on celebrating success and honesty

If you want to score, you have to celebrate your successes. It may sound logical, but trainer and coach Geeske sees all too often that great results are adamantly ignored. ‘And by…’, then seems a good summary of the overall mindset. In this blog Geeske shares the 4 most important reasons for celebrating success. And also gives you tips on how to do so. But also here we see a downside: sometimes you have colleagues who run off with all the credit very unfairly. That does not contribute to that team feeling that can provide energy for years. In a second blog, Geeske therefore gives you insight into the magic of long-term team relationships. Isn’t it also time for a reunion for your old successful team?

Tim on making speed and adversity

He was a professional track cyclist. Even competed several times for the Netherlands. And now he works as a trainer and coach at Scrum Academy. Not surprisingly, top athlete Tim talks about speed, accelerating and then going even faster. In his article he makes an interesting link between top sports and Agile working, between his life as an athlete and career as a coach. Take advantage of it! Besides, if you always go fast and have the wind in your sails…. you can also expect a fierce gust of wind. How do you deal with that? That’s exactly what another article by Tim is about, in which he gives you 3 tips on dealing with setbacks.

Free: 4 canvases and 4 online team tools

Hopefully my fellow trainers and coaches have inspired you with all their articles. If so, there’s a good chance that you now want to start working Agile with your team yourself. For that you would do well to take a look at our in-company services. But maybe these 4 online team tools will also give you a lot of insight:

Don’t want to measure (or just did) and want to get started right away? Totally fine! We also like to share useful tools with you without obligation. In this case in the form of four super practical canvases. Download them for free, fill them out (together with your team) and then put them into practice. Do you need some explanation or extra tips?
