Working at home? These tools you’ll need (5/5)

Working from home is sometimes tricky. But it’s a lot easier with the tools below. In this blog series, we look at the following facets and associated tools:

Whiteboarding

As creatives, we like to turn our thoughts into a visual representation. A picture says more than 1,000 words right? That’s why in our trainings we draw out a lot on flip charts and we like to brainstorm with post-its on the wall. But how do you do that online? Fortunately, there are a number of tools that do this very well.

Miro

Miro is a comprehensive whiteboarding tool in which you can go wild with post-its, mind maps, sketching and writing. The tool offers a seemingly endless whiteboard in which you can work to your heart’s content. Zoom in to work in detail, zoom out for the overview. Nice extras: a timer – very suitable for timeboxed sessions – and a voting tool. This brings you pretty close to the experience of a physical workshop.

Mural

You name Miro, you name Mural. This one is very similar to Miro and offers virtually the same thing. The differences are minor. Miro offers more integration options and an API. Biggest drawback I think is the more limited size of the whiteboard. In terms of cost, they do not differ much and offer a long trial period.
