Teamwork is immensely interesting. Good team dynamics don’t come naturally. You know that too, whether you manage a team or are just part of it. Together, you want to set ambitious goals and do everything in your power to achieve your golden plaque. But how do you do that in an era full of working from home, online meetings and limited casual physical encounters?

An energy leak of sorts

Let’s just say that those issues are rocking teamwork and team dynamics. Sparkling goal setting also seems to have become almost impossible. Do you also notice team members dropping out? Not crazy perhaps, since the human touch and team dynamics have sometimes dropped below zero in two years. But you can rekindle that fire, more on that later. First, a little more depth.

Same boat as excuse

The other day I heard someone say, “It’s a good thing we’re all in the same boat with all this online work stuff. Fortunately, our competitors don’t have it all sorted out yet either, or we might lose our competitive edge.’ My ears perk up. Because although this statement sounds legitimate, it is actually an excuse to sit back and not look at possible opportunities. Opportunities to actually strengthen your competitive position.

Last year’s lessons

Because the acceleration to contemporary and enduring hybrid working also gives a lot of advantages. Meeting efficiency has never been higher. Travel times are extremely reduced. We ask the question more quickly; is it really necessary for me to be at this meeting? The increased grasp of digital tools should not be forgotten either. In addition, many people have found in their homes the ideal workspace for optimal focus. And with that immediately a finer work-life balance.

Strengthen competitive position

But to capitalize on this you need to manage well, maintain team dynamics and create the right conditions to drive results. If you haven’t managed that well enough yet then this is the time to position yourself properly, regroup and make sure you are ready to pop.
